Planting Persimmons, Blueberries, and Blackberries

Join members of GPG for our next work day on Saturday, May 7th at the Guilford College Farm. You do not need to be a member of GPG to attend — everyone is welcome.

Location: Guilford College Farm
1128 New Garden Rd, GSO  [ map ]

Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

You may park at the start of the gravel road to the farm or at New Garden Friends School. Please call if you need help getting there.

Our day will be all about attracting more insects to the farm. We have bees to feed and also want to attract more butterflies and predatory species that will keep the populations of existing and anticipated pests in check. We will be starting some experiments with interplanting herbs and flowers in with our newly planted blueberries and in the vegetable rows themselves.

We will also assess the site of the farmhouse and begin a design discussion regarding the existing conditions and using the remaining trees, canes, bulbs, flowers, and herbs we have available.

What to bring: gloves, water bottle, sunscreen, good shoes for digging, and long pants
