Justin asks that drivers park around the corner, on Mayflower St.
Member Justin, who lives near UNCG in Greensboro reports he’s interested in uprooting and moving a magnolia more than 20 years old. That’ll take a lot of hands, and strong backs. And there’s more. Here’s his take on the plan for the day:
“We’ve got plenty to work on over here, we can start with a small tour and move to the main event from there. The top priority is to remove and transplant a 20+ year old magnolia tree that was planted far too close to the house many years ago. I’d like to move that to Deep Roots to help create some bird habitat and windbreak…anyone with a truck would be lots of help here. We’ve also got mulch to spread as well as moving some soil to create hugelkulturesque borders around a garden area that is transitioning to an orchard. If that’s not enough we can always trim some trees. We’ll have kitchari with naan (Indian food) and fruit salad to snack on.”
