We’re already bangin’-up against the third Tuesday of the month, which is when GPG offers a night-time meeting for anyone interested in attending.
Tomorrow’s will be hosted by member Justin Vettel at his home near UNCG, where he’ll lead a discussion about the benefits of biochar (semi-burnt wood) as a builder of soil and soil fertility.
Here’s how he describes it:
“Come out to our house this Tuesday to learn the basics of biochar…served with s’mores and cider! We’ll talk about what biochar is, how to make it and some great ways to use it. There is a lot of buzz about biochar in the world of soil science. In our modern age, we are just now realizing (again) the benefits and uses of this material that has been employed by indigenous cultures for thousands of years to manage waste and revitalize ecosystems. We hope to see you there as we lift the veil of mystery surrounding this wonder-material.”
